Hygrophila serpyllum is an aquatic plant belonging to the Acanthaceae family, known for its small, lanceolate leaves that range in colour from light to dark green, depending on the light and nutrient conditions in the aquarium. This plant is well-suited for freshwater environments and can add a lush, green aesthetic to any aquarium setup. Its adaptability allows it to grow both submerged and emersed, making it a versatile choice for aquascapers.

Thriving in moderate to high lighting conditions, Hygrophila serpyllum benefits from a nutrient-rich substrate and CO2 supplementation, which can enhance its growth rate and overall health. Regular trimming may be necessary to maintain its shape and prevent it from overshadowing other plants. This species can provide excellent cover and habitat for small fish and invertebrates, contributing to a balanced and vibrant aquarium ecosystem.
